Captains,

 

Please note another disciplinary committee finding for aggressive retaliatory behavior.  This is the second such incident we've had in just half a season after having a Spring without a single need to call the DC.

 

The pitch is not the place to take out your aggressions for the work week and we look to you captains to keep your players in line.

Booters Captains,

 

The league Disciplinary Committee has provided their recommendation after reviewing the incident of Oct 4th.  I concur with their recommendation and as such Manuel is suspended for an additional game in addition to the mandatory one game. 

 

As you all should know by now, there is no place for this kind of behavior in our league.

After reviewing referee reports and requesting additional details from the teams involved, the CCSL DC recommends the Manuel Lainez be suspended for two games total.

 

Testimony was requested from both of the teams involved.  One statement was received from the Washington Wanderers.  No statements were received from Booters.

 

The incident appears to be fairly straightforward, with the card being issued for violent conduct after the play.  Lainez was contesting a 50/50 ball with a Wanderers player.  Following the play, both players fell to the ground.  Words were exchanged and Lainez kicked the opposing player in the midsection.  A photo provided by Wanderers appears to show clear evidence of a bruise/abrasion on the midsection of a Wanderers player.

 

This action, on the part of Lainez is contrary to the spirit of the CCSL.  At no time does the CCSL condone violence, lack of sportsmanship, or retaliation of this nature.  As such, the DC recommends the two game suspension.
