We don't know anything for sure, but we think the playoffs will happen like this:
First round - Sunday June 17th?
#3 (Goleros) vs. #6 (Red Tape). The league will also schedule #4 (Quicksilver) vs. #5 (Capital Crew). Capital Crew and Team X may play their make-up game this week during the evening, but the game is meaningless since neither can affect its standings with either a win or a loss.
Second round - Saturday June 23rd?
Goleros vs. #2 (Tsunami); Quicksilver or Crew vs. #1 (Team X)
Third round - Sunday June 24th?
Goleros vs. Quicksilver/Crew/Team X. Note: if Team X reaches this game, whoever plays them will be entitled to automatic promotion. It would be awesome if we played in this game and beat Team X, earning a legitimate division title. Of course, we're not taking anything for granted. This is wishful thinking and a little confidence. We're going to have to earn these wins.
Not sure about your post there Pete....fairly sure that in the 3rd-6th position you've got to win the final of the playoffs to get the nod for promotion. So if a 2nd-6th team plays 1st in the final and looses, then 2nd place team gets the nod for promotion (i.e back door promotion).

the only thing i know for sure is that 2 teams are entitled to promotion:

I just assumed that the playoffs would determine who was second, if the first place team also made it to the playoff final. But maybe it doesn't. Maybe if Team X wins the playoffs too, Tsunami gets it. That doesn't seem fair.
I just got the email for the refs. Makeups are scheduled for this Sunday. Which means first round is the 23rd, second round is the 24th and final is on July 1st.

ReplyDeletenathan, you saw the ref email. i'm not sure about the schedule though. i would think they might try to compact the games - do saturdays and sundays. july 1st would blow for me - out of town.
