Check out these video highlights of the MLS All-Star game last night versus Everton.
The highlight package is good enough, but what you've got to see are the PKs at the end. Because this is more of an entertainment product, rather than a league match, they let the cameras onto the field. You get an amazing shot of the PKs from behind the spot. You can see the speed at which these guys kick the ball, their mostly expert placement of the ball, some bad misses, and some amazing saves.

It was great to see that angle. You can really predict better who is going to miss or get their shot saved. Jo's was the easiest to predict. Goal keepers are taught to dive in the direction of the shooters hips and he didn't disguise his hips very well
ReplyDeleteI watched it again and it was great! You get to see one of the current best goalkeepers do his thing.
ReplyDeleteDonovan's shot is excellent. The speed of the ball is impressive given that he goes low and to the post.
Neville's shot is excellent. Howard guesses correctly but there's just too much mustard on it.
Arnaud's shot was pretty good upon second viewing, but Howard read it correctly and got the jump.
Ljunberg's shot isn't good.
Casey's quick start is excellent.
Each one shows a different skill and outcome.
